Abstract

990,655. Valves. MAGNETIC VALVE CO. Ltd. Nov. 15, 1963 [Nov. 22, 1962], No. 44146/62. Heading F2V. A fluid-flow control valve of the kind in which a movable valve member 15 is normally actuated manually by a spindle 18 having an axial or a combined axial and angular movement and is sustained by means of a solenoid 17, pressurized diaphragm or piston, or a thermal device has co-operating radial surfaces 24, 25 on the spindle and a part through which the spindle extends to provide sealing in both operative and inoperative positions. The spindle is moved axially upwards against spring pressure by a lever 28 and has a collar to support compressible sealing washers 24, 25 for engagement with the upper end of a recess 21 and the inner end of a bush 22. In an alternative construction, a conical single beat lift has a depending spindle for engagement by a lever 44 which is rotated when dogs 57, 58 are engaged by sliding a spindle 46 against spring pressure, the spindle having a handle 54 to rotate it and lift the valve and a collar 48 to provide sealing.
