Abstract

989,903. Valves. H. VIESSMANN. Sept. 4, 1962 [Sept. 19, 1961; Nov. 18, 1961], No. 33854/62. Heading F2V. A change-over and mixing valve, comprising at least three tube connectors 1, 2 disposed so as together with top and bottom plates 8, 9 to form a valve housing providing a cylindrical valve chamber, and a rotary slide valve member 7 in the chamber, is characterized by plate elements 12, 13 at the axial ends of the valve member and adjacent the inner surfaces of the top and base plates, these plate elements being of brass, bronze, non-corrosive steel, or plastics material, resilient sealing elements 14, 15 being disposed between the top and base plates and the said plate elements so that the valve member is resiliently mounted between the top and base plates. The valve member is provided with deflectors 16. As shown, the housing is of welded construction, the bottom plate 9 being removable. Stiffening members 35 are disposed in each angle between the tube connectors. In a modification, the plate elements 12, 13 are formed integrally with the valve member 7.
