Abstract

984,315. Disc brakes. AMADORI CAMPAGNOLO S.p.A. July 24, 1962 [Aug. 12, 1961], Heading F2E. In a disc brake of the kind in which the braking action is exerted by flat blocks or pads against the side surfaces of a brake disc, the plates 1 carrying the pads 2 are acted upon by resilient means 5 so as to bias each of the plates 1 in the direction in which the plates are drawn by the disc during braking and to continuously take up anyplay in the direction of rotation of the brake disc 3 and prevent undue noise or movement of the brake pads in that direction. The resilient means 5 secured to a portion 7 of the brake frame 8 consists of two coiled portions 4, 4<SP>1</SP> having arms 6, 6<SP>1</SP> bent at right angles passing through holes 1<SP>1</SP> in the plates 1.
