Abstract

983,884. Travelling-band filters for liquids. TECHNICON INSTRUMENTS CORPORATION. July 10, 1962 [May 24, 1962], No. 26415/62. Heading B1D. Two liquids are mixed at 14 to produce a precipitate, the resulting liquid-solid mixture being fed on to a strip of filter paper 40 drawn continuously from a supply roll 42 by a roller 44, and two rollers 46 (only one shown). The two rollers 46 are mounted in line on the same shaft and are spaced so as to contact only the edges of the strip and leave the precipitate (which remains on, and in the centre of, the strip) undisturbed. A liquid receiver 64 is provided, and preferably suction is applied to its liquid outlet. Specifications 774,711, 817,070, 834,635 and 929,079 are referred to.
