983,701. Garment stretchers. KANNEGIESSER & CO. MASCHINENFABRIK G.m.b.H. Heading A3V. [Also in Division F4] A stretching device for use with a garment pressing machine comprises a trunk 10 over which a garment 11 is draped, having two stretching plates 13, 13a on each side of which in the inoperative, retracted position reside therein, (Fig. 5, not shown) and which is the pressing position are adapted to be separately moved by levers 14, 14a pivotally connected thereto to protrude beyond the edges of the trunk. The plates 13, 13a may be inflatable, or the plates on each side may be connected together by hinges to be movable in unison, or stops 19 for the plates may be mounted within the trunk. After stretching of the garment, the trunk 10 is inserted in a press comprising two pressing members (not shown), which may be heated, which are moved together to press the article therebetween.
