Abstract

983,412. Switchgear structures. COMPAGNIE GENERALE D'ELECTRICITE. June 29, 1962 [June 29, 1961], No. 25098/62. Heading H2B. In a draw-out switchgear structure the fixed parts, including the bus-bars &c. are immersed in insulating liquid while the withdrawable circuit breakers are immersed in insulating and are extinguishing compressed halogeneous gas, it and its pressure being chosen to have the same dielectric strength as the liquid. The withdrawable breakers 7 may be of the type described in Specification 972,733 and plug into spouts 12, 17 about the end of one of which are arranged a set of three bus-bars 9, 10, 11. The other spouts 17 connect through current transformers 14 to incoming cables. Earthing switches 18 are provided for the cables. A low voltage control and indicator section 6 connects by plug-in connection 22 to the withdrawable breakers 7. Numerous halogenous compounds are suggested for both the insulating gas and liquid.
