Abstract

983,209. Cigar holders. J. GOLD, and B. GOLD, [trading as BELGO INTERNATIONAL]. Oct. 21, 1963, No. 41510/63. Heading A2M. A tip for a cigar comprises an elongated hollow one-piece moulded body B [Fig. 2] the end 4b receiving open butt end 1 of cigar A shoulder 7 limiting the insertion of the cigar. The mouth-end of the tip 4a has a draft opening 10 in end wall 5. A hollow boss 6 projects inwardly from end wall 5 forming a recess 8 which may contain a short filter element 9 e.g. of cellulosic material, the end 8a of the recess having a slightly larger diameter to allow easy insertion of the filter. The space in recess 8 and the space between boss 6 and body portion 4a and between the end of the boss and the cigar butt end provide for the circulation and cooling of the smoke. In a modification the hollow boss 11 [Fig. 7] is disposed intermediate the length of part 12 of the tip so that the cigar holding part 12a is disposed at one end of the hollow boss and mouthpiece 12b having a draft aperture 13 at the other end. In a further modification hollow boss 16 [Fig. 8] is disposed between parts 17a and 17b the inner end of boss 16 serving as an abutment for the cigar butt end which has a perforation 18 the walls of the boss being provided with transverse apertures 19 in zone 20. The holder may be moulded from synthetic plastic material e.g. polythene.
