Abstract
983,010. Valves. H. TEVES, E. A. TEVES, and M. TAUSEND, [trading as ALFRED TEVES MASCHINEN-UND ARMATURENFABRIK KOMM.-GES.]. June 8, 1962 [June 29, 1961], No. 22246/62. Heading F2V. A valve comprises a closure member 4 opened against a spring loading and fluid inlet pressure by a member 2 through a rod 6. In the valve closed position, the rod 6 is at an angle to the direction of movement of the valve closure and the member 2 and engages in a groove 13 in the member 2. As the member 2 moves to the left, the rod 6 opens the valve and after the rod engages an abutment 11, further movement of the member 2 causes the rod to move out of the groove to move the closure 4 to its fully open position. Since the valve is open, the fluid pressure is substantially equal on opposite sides of the closure and the movement of the rod out of the groove is made against the spring-loading only.
