Abstract
The invention comprises C3- 6-alkanes and hydroxyalkanes substituted on one or two of their carbon atoms with the group <FORM:0982332/C2/1> where R represents a C1- 3-alkyl group and their acid addition salts and the preparation thereof by reacting either a reactive derivative of an alkylsulphonic acid RSO3H with a C3- 6-alkane or hydroxyalkane substituted on one or two of its carbon atoms with the group -NH-CH2-CH2-OH or with a salt of this compound; or a salt of the acid RSO3H with a C3- 6-alkane or hydroxyalkane substituted on one or two of their carbon atoms with b - halogenoethylamino groups; or the acid RSO3H with a C3- 6-alkane or hydroxyalkane substituted on one or two of their carbon atoms with ethyleneimino groups. Free hydroxyl groups may be partly or wholly protected by acetal or acyloxy groups which may be subsequently removed by acid hydrolysis. Cytostatic compositions comprise the compounds of the invention admixed with appropriate inert carriers or diluents and may be in the form of injection solutions.
