981,887. Automatic temperature control systems. FOSTER INSTRUMENT CO. Ltd. Jan. 12,1962 [March 23,1961], No. 10664/61. Heading G3R. [Also in Division H3] An electrical control system responsive to an electrical input signal dependent on say temperature, comprises a moving coil system 2 motivating an obstruction 4 between a light source 5 and a silicon photo-cell 7 which is connected across a diagonal of a bridge circuit comprising a thermistor 8, a resistor 9 and a transistor 10, the current at balance actuating a relay coil 11, 14 controlling the variable quantity, and energizing a heater 15 which acts to reducethe transistor base drive and hence the relay current to heat the release valve. In a modification a thermistor is substituted for the resistor 9 to reduce ambient temperature effects. Thermistor 9 may have an additional resistor in series so that the combination will give constant voltage at the photo-cell connection point.
