Abstract
In a balloon limiter adapted to surround a let-off bobbin e.g of a 2 for 1 twisting spindle the thread contacting portions thereof are of a low frictional coefficient plastics material belonging to the group of polymerized fluorinated hydrocarbons such as P.T.F.E. or polychlorotrifluoroethylene; a softening additive such as P.V.C., polyamide, polyurethane, polyurea, melamine and formaldehyde resings may be included. The whole of the limiter may be of the plastics material or a layer of such material may be provided on the interior of a cylindrical base made up of sheet metal or layers of plastics materials, sodium cellulose paper soaked in phenolic resin sulphite cellulose paper soaked in carbamide resin, glass fibres and textiles.
