Abstract
980,320. Carrier bags. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. July 28, 1961, No. 27436/61. Heading A4G. A carrier bag has a mouthpiece formed from a folded strip of cardboard or like material 1 with its ends slotted at 2, 7, 3 for interengagement, the material of the bag portion 5 being secured to the mouthpiece so that the ends of the cardboard strip are held in engagement. The bag portion may be made of polythene and heatsealed to the mouthpiece or it may be formed from a bag of flexible sheet material the open end of which is adhesively secured to the mouthpiece. In a modification the mouthpiece may comprise two strips of cardboard or like material slotted at each end for interengagement.
