Abstract

977,658. Valves. MECANO - BUNDY G.m.b.H. Feb. 25, 1963 [Feb. 28, 1962], No. 7472/63. Heading F2V. A thermostatically actuated valve comprises a valve release member 1a co-operating with a resilient seat 2c, and having an auxiliary flow path 1b which co-operates with a fixed valve member 4a. The thermostatic element is a piston-cylinder device and when the temperature commences the opening movement of the valve, the auxiliary path is first opened to allow a small flow and the flow past the closure 1a and seat 2c is prevented by the resilience of the seat. Further opening movement then moves the closure 1a from its seat. The resilient member may be fixed to the valve closure instead of the seat.
