Abstract

977,633. Storage racks. T. J. CLARKE. Jan. 10, 1962 [Jan. 10, 1961], No. 1065/62. Divided out of 977,632. Heading A4H. [Also in Division B8] A block of racks for storing cradles supporting articles such as internal combustion engines comprises an open frame formed from braced uprights 30, 31 and provided at two opposite sides with vertical columns of racks, each rack comprising a pair of L-section rails 35. A further pair of columns of racks is provided, having rails 37, at the other two opposite sides of the frame. The open frame is rotatably mounted on a pillar 40, and the rails in one column are spaced from the rails of the adjacent column by a clearance 36 to allow the passage of chains 47 suspended from a yoke 42 supported from the carriage 45 of an overhead hoist. The chains 47 are provided with rings 48 for supporting projecting trunnions 53 on the cradles. The cradles and a hand truck for lifting and transporting the cradles are substantially as described in Specification 977,632.
