977,218. Exhaust pipe clamps. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. Nov. 29, 1963 [Nov. 28, 1962], No. 44928/62. Heading B7H. A motor vehicle exhaust pipe 1 is supported by a strip of flexible metal 3 encircling the pipe with hooked ends 5 connected to the vehicle body by elastic members such as rubber bands 7 or springs. The metal 3 is preferably spring steel, the free diameter of the loop being less than the exhaust pipe diameter. In alternatives, part 17 of the strip passes through an aperture in the strip (Fig. 3) and the strip is formed from wire.
