Abstract

976,881. Scaffolding. G. PIERI. May 29, 1962, No. 20638/62. Heading E1S. A scaffold comprises a staging 1a supported on a carriage or carriages 10 driven on vertical racks 3 forming part of towers composed of sections one above the other connected by spigots and sockets 9. Pawls operated by a common control hold the carriages at any position. Each tower consists of two uprights of triangular cross-section each comprising two tubes 2 and a rack 3 joined by struts 5. The bottom section is mounted on a base 6 and the uprights of the top and bottom sections of the tower are connected by struts and the bottom sections of the towers are connected together by struts. The carriage 10 is used to erect the upper sections.
