Abstract

Waste foamed material is corrinated and mixed with a foamable synthetic resin binding agent and a volatile inert swelling agent for the foamed material and the mixture caused to foam and set in a mould to form a cellular structure. The foamed material may be polyurethane foam, foam or cellular rubber, or a mixture thereof, or a mixture of polyurethane and polyvinyl chloride foams. The swelling agent may be a volatile liquid halogenated hydrocarbon e.g. methylene chloride. The binding agent may be a polyurethene resin composition to which a water absorbent cellulose derivative e.g. methyl cellulose may be added.
