975,574. Crucibles and metallurgical converters. DEMAG A.G. July 17, 1961 [July 16, 1960], No. 25887/61. Heading F4B. A converter or crucible employing an oxygen lance has a replaceable bottom comprising a concave metal base plate 1 and a frustoconical sheet metal casing 2 enclosing a brick lining. Iron supports 3 are secured at intervals to the outside of the casing 2 and are clamped in position by lugs 3a extending between the base-plate 1 and the edge of a lower annular plate 4 of the converter or crucible shell.
