Abstract

The invention comprises isoquinoline derivatives of general formula <F\1> wherein R1 and R2, which may be the same or different, stand for allyl radicals, R3 stands for hydrogen or an alkoxy radical, R4 stands for hydrogen or an alkyl or alkoxy radical, R5 and R6, which may be the same or different, stand for hydrogen or alkyl radicals and n stands for 1 or 2; and acid-addition salts thereof; and the preparation thereof by the interaction of an amino derivative of isoquinoline of general formula <FORM:0973912/C1/1> wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 have the above meaning and R7 stands for an alkyl radical, with a 1, 3-diketone of formula <FORM:0973912/C1/2> wherein R2 and n have the above meanings, preferably in the presence of a basic condensing agent such as tertiary amine or an alkali metal tertiary alkoxide, and/or a chemical or physical arrangement for removing water formed in the reaction, optionally in the presence of a free radical inhibitor such as p-methoxy-phenol, and an inert diluent or solvent. The reaction may be accelerated or completed by the application of heat. Specifications 973,911 and 973,913 are referred to.
