973,874. Drying processes. CHEMISCHE WERKE BUNA VEB. March 29, 1961, No. 11488/61. Heading F4G. A solid material or product mixed with or dissolved in a liquid is dried by mixing it with steam which acts as a propellant for conveying the material through a zone whereat the steam is superheated to a temperature sufficient to evaporate the liquid from the solid. Material is fed from a worm to a chamber 2 where steam is fed through a pipe 8 to carry the material through a superheater 4 to a cyclone 5 and a filter 6 where the separated solid is extracted. If the material is moist with a liquid other than water, vapour of that liquid can be used in the same way as the steam.
