A device for forming loop selvedges comprises a wire 8, around which the wefts are laid, which is attached at one end to a heald frame 10 and at the other end is supported in a pivotable C- sectioned guide 5. The guide 5 and the wire 8 may be transversely movable for different width fabrics and the wire 8 may be independently shed.
