Abstract

An end-wrapper for wrapping a hair tress during a permanent waving process comprises a thin sheet of water-pervious paper in which there is bonded directly to one surface of the paper a coating which is adherent to itself and non-adherent to hair. Suitable coatings comprise natural rubber latex and synthetic polymers, e.g. styrene/butadiene, vinyltoluene/butadiene and acrylic copolymers, butyl rubber, neoprene, polyisobutylene and aqueous dispersions of acrylic and methacrylic polymers. Tackifiers, e.g. rosin, rosin derivatives and hydrogenated coumarone-indene resins, may also be present.
