Abstract
972,316. Transistor switching circuits. COMPAGNIE ELECTRO-MECANIQUE. Feb. 12, 1962 [Feb. 10, 1961], No. 5328/62. Heading H3T. A switch for connecting a power supply 5 to a load 2 comprises a transistor blocking oscillator connected in parallel with the load, variation in the air gap of the transformer Tf producing starting and stopping of the oscillator so as to effectively cut the supply off from the load or connect it to the load respectively, the mark to space ratio of the oscillator output being large. As described, the transformer comprises a potshaped dust core moved by a push-button. In the oscillating condition of the circuit the pulses are absorbed by capacitor C 2 which produces an effective low impedance shunt across the load 2. The transformer may be provided with a large number of turns so that, on opening the air gap, oscillation does not cease immediately, but continues until the end of an oscillation period. A base bias circuit including a N.T.C. resistor may be provided for temperature stabilization, Fig. 2 (not shown).
