972,175. Sliding bolts. HARRISON (BIRMINGHAM) Ltd. Aug. 29, 1963 [Sept. 27, 1962], No. 36660/62. Heading E2A. A door bolt 11 slidable in a housing 10 engages a keeper 16 provided with a weakened area, e.g., a slit, Fig. 1, or a thin membrane 22, Fig. 2, so that if pressure in excess of that normally required to open the door is applied to the door the bolt can deform the keeper and thus permit the door to be opened. The keeper may be made of plastic, such as polypropylene, or metal such as aluminium or copper.
