Abstract

971,263. Toy vehicles. METTOY CO. Ltd. Sept. 24, 1962 [Oct. 2, 1961], No. 35501/61. Heading A6S. A model racing car transporter comprises a hollow body 1 divided into two compartments by partition 3, the forward compartment 4 simulating a driving cab and workshop being closed at the top by a fixed roof 5, and the rearward, storage compartment 6 being closed at the top by a ramp 9 which is capable of pivoting about the upper edge of partition 3 to form a ramp leading to the roof 5. The ramp 9 is maintained in its upper horizontal position by the action of spring 11 bearing on a downward extension 14 thereof, and by lateral projections 16 (not shown) on the ramp resting upon the upper edges of projections 17 integral with the body of the model, and when in this position, the ramp serves to latch a tail board 10 upright. In order to release the tail board the ramp 9 is pushed forwards against the action of spring 11, thus moving projections 20 on the ramp relative to those 18 on the body 1 with the result that the ramp 9 may be raised slightly to release the tail board. Simultaneously the projections 16, 17 are disengaged and the ramp 9 may also be lowered. Specification 904,525 is referred to.
