Abstract

970,315. Electric selective signalling systems. TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L. M. ERICSSON. Feb. 16,1961 [Feb. 16, 1960], No. 5847/61. Heading G4H. [Also in Division H4] Signals comprising a combination of two frequencies out of a set of seven or two series pulses out of seven are transmitted to a receiver the output of which is inhibited if two adjacent frequencies in the set or two adjacent pulses are received. In the former case, a keyboard SS is used to select an appropriate combination of audio frequencies 1-7, the receiver MM comprising respective frequency-selective elements 1-7 arranged to mark two of the output leads 0, 1, 2, 4, 7, 10, X corresponding to the received frequencies. If, owing to interference, two adjacent leads are marked, the corresponding AND gate F-K is enabled, gate T is inhibited and gates M-S are closed to block the output of the receiver. A recoder UU converts the two out of seven code to a two out of six code which uses all fifteeen possible combinations. In Fig. 2 (not shown) the input to the transmitter is in two out of six code which is converted to the two out of seven code, transmitted in serial form by means of AND gates and a tapped delay line, and at the receiver again transformed to parallel form by a further tapped delay line, the signals then being processed as in the receiver of Fig. 1. The transmitter and receiver are synchronized by transmitting a selected code group every twenty code groups.
