Abstract
969,884. Ignition systems. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. July 18, 1963 [Aug. 29, 1962], No. 28468/63. Heading F1B. [Also in Division G1] The output of a pulse generator device 10 driven by the engine is connected to an ignition control unit 28 so as to control the timing of the spark impulses applied to the engine spark-plugs 78 and is also connected to a tachometer unit 26 to indicate the speed of rotation of the engine crankshaft. As shown the ignition control unit 28 includes transistors 50, 52, 54. The tachometer unit includes a D.C. voltmeter 30 which may be calibrated in revolutions per minute.
