Abstract

969,532. Cutting webs. MOLINS MACHINE CO. Ltd. July 6, 1962 [Aug. 23, 1961], No. 30373/61. Heading B4B. [Also in Division B8] In a wrapping-machine in which a strip of wrapping material from a continuously moving web (see Division B8) is cut by a cooperating rotating knife 12 and fixed knife 7A, the cut strip falls on to a plate 10 at a lower level than the path of the moving web, the knife 12 being arranged to press down the rear edge of the cut strip so that the following web may run over the top thereof. The linear speed of the web is less than the peripheral speed of the knife 12.
