[Also in Division B8] In a method of filling a mould with fragmentary material, e.g. wood chips coated or impregnated with a binding agent, intermediate hopper chambers corresponding in volume to elemental volumes of the mould are filled successively and then emptied into the mould. As described, a mould 1 for making boxes has two simple or elemental volume parts A and B and on a movable support there is provided intermediate hoppers 3 and 4 with volumes a and b equal to the volumes A and B respectively. The hoppers 3 and 4 are filled successively from a reciprocating trough 28 via a fixed hopper 18 and a movable shoot 22. The bottom of the hoppers 3 and 4 are slid open to discharge their contents into the mould.
