Abstract

The invention comprises the piperazine salts of compounds of general formula: <FORM:0966074/C1/1> wherein X is a hydrogen or halogen atom or an alkyl radical containing up to 4 carbon atoms, Y is a hydrogen or halogen atom, and each Z is independently a chlorine, bromine or iodine atom; and their preparation by reaction of piperazine with the anilide. 41-Nitro-salicyl-anilides specified are the 3,5, 21-trichloro-, the 5-chloro-21-iodo-, and the 5, 21-dibromo-compounds obtained by reacting corresponding salicylic acids and nitro-anilines in the presence of phosphorus trichloride. Anthelminthic compositions comprise piperazine salts of compounds I in admixture with a pharmaceutical carrier. Administration in the form of powders, tablets, elixirs or pastes, to animals and man, is mentioned.
