Abstract
965,817. Rear-view mirrors. RAYDYOT Ltd. April 19, 1963 [April 27 1962], No. 16123/62. Heading B7J. A " swingback " rear-view vehicle mirror comprises a mirror arm having a straight portion 13, Fig. 2, rotatably mounted in a housing 10 having a base plug 12 connectible at 14 with the vehicle body, a roller 31 on a radial projection 30 on the arm being urged into contact with an index plate 19, Fig. 3, by a spring 17 disposed between the housing wall 11 and a cross-pin 18 on the arm, the plate 19 having seats 20 to 24 whose angular spacing is variable. The humps 25, 29 between the seat 20 and the seats 21, 24 are equal in length and longer than the humps 26, 27 and 28 between the seats 21, 22, 23 and 24. In a modification, the index plate may be integral with the plug 12. Also a single pin projecting diametrically of the arm 13 may abut both the spring and the index plate. According to the Provisional Specification the invention may be applied to the construction described in Specification 954,124.
