Abstract

965,618. Reciprocating pumps and motors. CINCINNATI MILLING MACHINE CO. Oct. 11, 1962 [March 8, 1962], No. 38522/62. Heading F1A. An hydraulic pump or motor has radially disposed pistons 22a, two axially spaced cams 17, 18 and motion transmitting members 30 therebetween. The members 30 comprise a shaft 31, needle bearings 33, 34 bearing on cams 17, 18 respectively, needle bearings 50, 51 disposed between support members 40 and a pivotal link 35. The link 35 has a stud 36 and a spherical head 37 formed thereon is received in a seat 38 in each plunger. The support members 40 take up the lateral loads arising between the cams 17, 18 and the members 30. When used as a motor, annular passages 44 45 (Fig. 1) are respectively connected to a sump and to a pressurized liquid source and are connected to ports 46, 47 respectively in the cylinders via passages 52, 53 respectively. In Fig. 2, the motor is rotating anti-clockwise and the port 47 of the piston 22c is about to open to supply pressurized liquid to piston 22b.
