Abstract

A self-propelling aqueous size composition comprises 1-10% of size and 0.001-1.0% of a phosphatide, e.g. lecithin or cephalin. The size may be oxidised, acid-modified, or gelatinised starch, hydroxyethyl starch, carboxymethyl cellulose, or an acrylate. The propellent may be difluro-dichloromethane. Other ingredients may be borax, sodium hydroxide, silicate, tripolyphosphate, and/or the phenyl phenate, polyethylene glycol, and dimethyl silicone.
