Abstract
962,966. Discharge tubes. SYLVANIA ELECTRIC PRODUCTS Inc. Dec. 27, 1962 [Dec. 26, 1961], No. 48712/62. Heading H1D. A multi-electrode gaseous discharge tube comprises a dished base 13 of insulating material having a tube 14 extending therethrough by way of a seal 15 and carrying an anode 17 at one end, a multiplicity of electrodes 20, spaced from one another and radially spaced from the anode 17, extending outwardly through the seal between the dished base 13 and a domed cover 25. A gas filling for the tube is introduced by means of the tube 14 which is sealed as at 30. The tube 14 may be of conductive material, thus forming the connection to the anode 17 or it may be non-conductive, in which case a connection to the anode is provided through the bore of the tube. Groups of the electrodes 20 may be interconnected by conductive members fixed around the base or cover members 13, 25.
