962,836. Measuring coils. R.G. MANDER. March 13, 1963 [March 15, 1962], No. 9918/62. Heading G1M. [Also in Division G4] A device for computing the weight of coils or solid cylindrical bodies comprises a member 10 graduated in units of length on a scale 101 and graduated on a scale 102 to read directly the weight of a unit axial length of a solid cylindrical body formed of material of known density from a measure of its radius. The weight of a coil can be deduced from the difference between its internal and external radii. Cursors 11 with hairlines 114 are provided on member 10 and a slide rule may be incorporated.
