Abstract

A polymer composition stabilized against colour development comprises a polymer of an olefin, titanium, a phenolic antioxidant and a stabilizing amount of a nonionic surface active agent. The surface active agent is preferably a polyglycol, polyhydric alcohol or a condensation product of an alcohol with ethylene oxide (e.g. polyethylene glycol or glycerol), and of the many specified phenolic antioxidants that used in the example is 4,41-thiobis (6-tBu-m-cresol). Optional ingredients specified are various dialkyl esters of thiodicarboxylic acids. The titanium may be present as a catalyst residue.
