Abstract

961,355. Mounting hot-plates on electric cookers. REVO ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Feb. 4, 1963 [Feb. 20, 1962], No. 6483/62. Heading H5H. A cooker comprises a, hinged or detachable hob 1 having at least one aperture 2 within which is an electric heating element 6 secured to a port 7 pivotally mounted beneath hob 1 on a relatively fixed part 8. Mounted within aperture 2 is a bezel having an inwardly directed flange 3b supporting a separate spider 4 on which element 6 can rest. By hinging element 6 upwardly spider 4 can be removed from the bezel, so that hob 1 can be removed or hinged upwardly giving access to a splash tray 9 for cleaning. The bezel includes a cylindrical portion 3a and a flange 3c which rests on hob 1 to take the weight of element 6 and anything placed on it. Part 7 is a terminal box hinged to part 8 and has grooves 7a permitting limited movement to take up manufacturing discrepancies so that element 6 always lies flat on spider 4. Spring clips 5 retain the bezel.
