961,183. Measures of capacity. GASCOIGNES (READING) Ltd. July 12, 1961 [July 29, 1960], No. 26415/60. Drawings to Specification. Heading B8N. Means for graduating a transparent vessel to indicate its capacity at different levels of liquid therein comprises an adherent strip of flexible material which has a slot or window opening arranged to extend in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the vessel and is provided with graduated markings flanking the slot to indicate its capacity at different liquid levels. The strip may be of plastic material of such a character that it will adhere to the vessel after the exclusion of air or may be coated on one side with a pressure-sensitive adhesive. The slot may be actually cut out of the strip, or the strip may be transparent and overprinted with a dark background and white figures framing a central portion through which the liquid level can be seen. Pointers are preferably provided on the slot to facilitate reading of the liquid level.
