Abstract

959,904. Clip fastenings. UNITED-CARR FASTENER CORPORATION. Sept. 25, 1961 [Sept. 26, 1960], No. 34295/61. Heading E2B. A trim moulding assembly comprises in combination a support having a flange formed with a laterally extending portion 30 at its free end, a fastener assembled on the flange and comprising a body member of resilient material and formed with a longitudinally extending slot 26 having a laterally extending recess 28 at its inner end, the flange being disposed in the slot and the laterally entending end portion disposed in the recess, a channelshaped moulding strip 17 having internal flanges being assembled on the fastener, the internal flanges making resilient engagement with undercut areas 24 on the outer side walls of the body. The fastener is made of a synthetic plastics material such as nylon, cellulose acetate, butyrate resins or other polyamides. In a modification the recess can extend on each side of the slot so that where as shown the flange is made of two portions 12, 14, each can have a laterally extending end portion.
