Abstract

958,189. Balloon restrictors. BARMER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. Dec. 19, 1962 [Dec. 23, 1961], No. 47965/62. Heading D1D. Double-twist apparatus has a jacket surrounding and confining the balloon and in two parts one of which is fixed and the other movable out of position. As shown, the jacket takes the form of two semicylindrical shells 3, 4. One is fixed to a support 5 connected to the framework of the apparatus; the other is pivotable about pivots 7 which may be carried by the shell itself, the framework, or by plates 6, and engage bores in the support. Catches 10 which may be operated by a stop motion and a stop 13 are provided. The shells may be of different lengths or sizes and may be of transparent or other synthetic material or of metal with machined edges, the bore in each case being smooth.
