Abstract
3,5-disubstituted 2-fluoro 4, 6-tetra hydro -1- thia-3, 5 diazines of the general formulae: <FORM:0956659/C3/1> wherein R1 and R2 are alkyl or aralkyl radicals are used as accelerators in the vulcanisation of 2-chloro-1, 3, butadiene polymers or copolymers. The accelerators are added in amounts of 1-2% by weight calculated on the total weight of polymer to a sulphur-free metal oxide-containing chloroprene mixture and the mixture is then vulcanised in the known manner. In an example a mixture of 100 parts chloroprene polymer, 5 parts of magnesium oxide, 5 parts zinc oxide, 1 part stearic acid, 1.5 parts of 3,5, dimethyl 2-fluoro-4, 6-tetrahydrol-thia 3, 5, diazine, 1 part dihydroxy-diphenyl amine and 30 parts semi-active silicic acid was vulcanised for 60 minutes at 145 DEG C.
