Abstract
956,651. Surgical holders. R. W. MCCOSKER. July 23, 1962 [Aug. 24, 1961], No. 28273/62. Heading A5R. [Also in Divisions B6 and B8] A propelling instrument, Fig. 1, for use with cosmetics such as lipsticks and eyebrow pencil is assembled in the following manner:- (1) A feed spindle 6, nut 16, ferrule 18 and head portion 19, Fig. 4, is passed, ferrule end first, into a second tubular body section 3, Fig. 2, so that the nut 16 fits tightly into the region 17 of the section 3. (2) The second section 3 is passed, end 22 first into the open end 23 of a first body section 2, Fig. 3, so that region 17 of the section 3 protrudes from the restricted opening 9 of the first section. (3) A capped sleeve 11, Fig. 5, with an internal cross-section the same as the head 19, i.e. hexagonal or square, is tightly fitted into the open end 23 of the first section 2 and restricts axial movement of the two body sections 2 and 3. Rotation of the two body sections relative to each other will propel or retract a marking member 7 fixed into the ferrule 18, Fig. 1.
