Abstract

Relates to 7 - (21,61 - dimethoxybenzamido) -cephalosporanic acid and to the 7-(21,61-dimethoxybenzoyl) derivatives of the nucleus of Cephalosporin Cc and of a Cephalosporin Ca compound and to salts thereof such as the sodium and pyridine salts. The derivatives may be prepared by reacting the corresponding antibiotic nucleus with 2,6-dimethoxybenzoyl chloride or other derivative of 2,6-dimethoxybenzoic acid having an acylating function for a primary amine. Specification 953,695 is referred to.
