[Also in Division H2] The metal cap 5 is cast on to the tempered glass body 1 of an electrical insulator. The body may be coated with an insulating wash before the casting operation, and the metal is preferably a zinc or aluminium alloy melting below 800‹ C. which is gravity or pressure diecast. 11 is an asbestos or cardboard seal.
