Abstract

951,046. Burners. HERAEUS QUARZSCHELZE G.m.b.H. Jan. 14, 1963 [Jan. 13, 1962], No. 1586/63. Heading F4T. A burner made of quartz for the combustion of liquids or gases comprises concentric tubes 1, 4, 5 and 6, the free ends of the two outer tubes projecting slightly beyond the free ends of the two inner tubes. The inner tube 1 is connected to a container 3 for the substance to be burned; the outer tube 6 is connected to a hydrogen container 13 via a valve 12, and the tubes 4 and 5 are connected via valves 9 with an oxygen container 10. Preferably the annular gaps formed by the concentric arrangement of the tubes gradually narrow in the direction of the free ends of the tubes and the annular gap between the tubes 4 and 5 is wider than the annular gap between the tubes 1 and 4.
