Abstract

950,832. Centrifugal separators. ESCHER WYSS A.G. March 4, 1960 [March 12, 1959], No.7786/60. Heading B1D. A strainer 7 for the drum 3 of a centrifugal separator, e.g. of the continuously-operating- push-type, comprises axial corrugations 9 having discharge holes 10 at their radially outermost surfaces. The holes 10 open into grooves 11 and holes 12 of the drum 3. The material 8 to be centrifuged is fed to the funnel 5 by a tube 6 and pushed through the strainer 7 by a member 4, having a periphery of similar corrugations to the strainer, to pass into a collector 2. The strainer may comprise axial triangular cross-sectioned bars, which may be hollow, having gaps in between them. A slide-valve may co-operate with holes disposed adjacent the strainer centrifuged material outlet.
