Abstract

949,978. Sparking plugs. GLOBE-UNION Inc. Feb. 13, 1961, No. 5325/61. Heading F1B. A low tension surface discharge sparking plug includes a cylindrical body 30 of insulating or semi-conductive material and at least one of the electrodes has a single radially extending portion 34 spaced from the other electrode 26 the plug being adapted for positioning by angular rotation in such a manner that the spark always occurs in a predetermined location within the cylinder. The insulating body 30 may be formed from powdered material heated to softening point and compacted around the electrodes.
