Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the general formula: <FORM:0949890/C2/1> wherein n is an integer greater than 1 and less than 5 and R is an alkyl group of less than 4 carbon atoms. The bases form salts with inorganic and organic acids (including ascorbic acid) and quaternary ammonium salts with esters of alkanols and aralkanols. The compounds may be prepared by condensing an appropriate phenoxyalkyl halide with a 4-alkoxy-4-phenyl piperidine.
