Abstract

949,765. Binding posts and terminal boards. LAGUNA SCIENTIFIC INDUSTRIES. Feb. 3, 1962, No. 4244/62. Heading H2E. A connector comprises a hollow electrically conductive member 14, 15 or 16 (Fig. 2) and an insert of elastic insulating material 22 or 25 extending through the hollow member and being adapted to contract itself within the hollow member upon the application of a predetermined force to permit the insertion of at least one electric conductor 28, 29 (Fig. 5) into the hollow member and to expand itself upon relaxation of the force to press the electric conductor into electrical contact with an inner surface portion of the hollow member. In a modification (Fig. 6, not shown), the insert has a flange beneath the hollow member to retain it. A plurality of connectors may be mounted on an insulating board.
