Abstract
949,700. Glazing strips. F. ROBERING. April 5, 1962, No. 13187/62. Heading E1R. A glazing strip of plastics such as thermoplastic polyamide has an outer cover moulding 23 pivotally supported by a fillet 22 upstanding from the horizontal arm 7 of an L-section strip and connected to the upright arm 6 of the strip by a web 21, the web and fillet being of such flexibility that when the load of the pane 4 is applied to the web, the latter sags and causes the moulding 23 to be pulled inwardly so that the upper edge of the moulding presses against the pane 4. The web 21 and arm 6 form a channel for condensate water which can drain through holes 26 in the web to the outside of the window through holes in the fillet 22. Spacers 10 on the arm 6 slope downwardly to direct the pane during installation on to the web and a filter 20 of foamed material is disposed above the spacers 10 to fill the gap between the arm 6 and the pane 4.
